We all want to create safe, accessible experiences when we’re delivering training, presentations, or workshops. But telling people it’s a safe space doesn’t make it so. This talk gives some practical tips on how to intentionally include people who experience the world differently from you, whether due to disability, culture or identity.

This talk is aimed at people at any level doing talks, presentations, workshops, and training. It explains some common pitfalls in well-intentioned presentations and why they’re a problem. It’s focused on clear, actionable tips to improve any presentation, in terms of content or approach.

Lizzie is a freelance consultant in inclusive and accessible content design. She worked for over ten years for the University of Edinburgh as a Content Designer before going freelance in 2021. She works with public, private and third sector organisations, carrying out accessibility reviews and helping to create inclusive content and policies. She is a certified accessibility professional (CPACC).

Lizzie is a queer, neurodivergent, physically disabled woman with a huge collection of terrible jokes.
